The Macon Telegraph and News

Sunday Morning, April 19, 1953

On April 30, 1953, and only a few days after this article was published in the Macon paper, the 1850 structure shown below was completely destroyed by a tornado.  This writer, who witnessed the aftermath, can testify that the age old timbers and planks were just a "pile of sticks."  For more information about this and other churches in Twiggs County, you are referred to The History of Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Association (Of Georgia) 1814-1964, Jones, Billy Walker, Dry Branch, Georgia, 1965.
